What Women Want…From Their Job 150 150 Jason Chong
This is an aside post. This week the class will focus on the work of Ansel Adams. If you haven’t already, you’ll need to purchase Ansel Adams: An Autobiography (available at the school bookstore) and read chapters 1 through 4. In particular, I want you to focus on this section from chapter 2: Adams also came to understand how important it was that his carefully crafted photos were reproduced to best effect. At Bender’s invitation, he joined the prestigious Roxburghe Club, an association devoted to fine printing and high standards in book arts. He learned much about printing techniques, inks, design, and layout which he later applied to other projects. [1]Some of Adams’ success can be attributed to how successfully he replicated his work through printing. This week we’ll be learning about his print techniques and making some prints of our own.

Attention

Leading up to the trade show, you may experience companies contacting exhibitors directly claiming to have room blocks on behalf of the GSF show. THESE CALLS ARE NOT AFFILIATED WITH NOR ASSOCIATED WITH THE SHOW OR CFIG.
GSF cannot be held responsible for any payments made toward these fraudulent claims. Please do not give your credit card information to anyone calling and claiming to be a Travel Agent representing the Event.
BEWARE OF THE MOST COMMON SCAMS:

International Fairs Directory
“International Fairs Directory” sends out a letter using the show name asking exhibitors to update their contact information. If you receive such a letter, do not respond and do not send the form back. If you read the fine print you would be agreeing to pay €1,212 (over CA$1,800) to them each year for three years for the “privilege” of advertising in their directory, which has no connection to any trade show.

Attendee Lists
GSF  does not sell / provide  our attendee list. The only way you can obtain this information is by collecting the data yourself as you talk to attendees who stop by your booth. You can collect the information manually or rent a badge scanner from Microspec.

False Hotel Reservations
Never book a hotel room with anyone calling you offering a hotel deal. The partner hotel FAIRMONT WATERFRONT VANCOUVER for the event is listed on the event website here: https://gsfshow.com/hotelandtravel/ under HOTEL/TRAVEL for you to book yourself.

Avoid Trade Show Scams
If you are ever unsure whether communications have come from GSF, please do not hesitate to check with us. A member of our team can verify if it is legitimate or not and GSF will never forward your details to third parties who are not contracted to work with the GSF.
If you have any questions/concerns, contact our team at: events@cfig.ca.
You can help stop these scammers by reporting any suspicious activities so we can advise other exhibitors. And remember, never provide financial information to any company you deem suspicious.

If you have any questions/concerns, contact our team at: events@cfig.ca.
